Last week, English 11 students held classroom debates.  As the culmination of a unit on argumentation, teams of students researched both sides of a topic, planned opening statements, and debated the opposing team.  Students had to thoroughly research both sides of the issue, as the side they argue is determined by a coin flip on the day of the debate.  The students' debates combined both prepared argument speeches with impromptu question and answer "crossfires" of the opposing teams.  The students who were not participating in that debate scored each debate to determine a winner.  

The Education Fair tonight incorrectly posted as going until 7:30. Tonight's MS/HS Education Fair will be from 4:00 - 6:30 at the high school. Come see all the great things our students are doing!

#HSDGoTigers with a win vs. Wonewoc-Center last night. Garrett Sagert picked up the win on the mound and the Tigers had three HR hitters: James Anderson, Dane Bach and Nick Stekel.

The Hillsboro High School Boys' Track Team took first place out of 8 teams at the Royall High School Gerard Brunner Invitational last week. #HSDGoTigers

Fifth grade learned about recycling at the Vernon County Recycling Center. They also discovered many historical treasures at the Vernon County Museum! #HSDGoTigers

Tonights baseball and softball games will both be played at Wonewoc-Center. Game time is moved up to 4:15 due to weather forecast.
