This week in the Tiger Nation...

Last week, Ms. Madden's Reading 8 and English 10 classes took advantage of the nice weather to take their books outside and read. Currently, the 8th graders are reading independent novels and the sophomores are reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Tonights JV Baseball game has been canceled due to field conditions.

Nurse Emily visited the second grade classrooms this week to talk about the benefits of exercise and stretching. The kids had a chance to learn how exercise can improve their mood, stay healthy, and help them focus. They had a chance to get their wiggles out and practice some animal yoga poses!

Reminder that Summer Rec sign up forms are due back tomorrow. Ages 5-15 are eligible to participate in activities.

This year's art show features several pieces that are available for purchase. Check out the silent auction table at tonight's and tomorrow nights performances. Items available are marked with purple tags. Winning bidders will be notified Monday. Pick up and payment will be on Tuesday, May 22.

The Hillsboro School Board recognized two individuals for their contributions to the District at Monday's meeting. Tim Evans of the Sentry-Enterprise for the excellent coverage of the schools he is providing and Jim Moe for his years of service as a teacher, principal and athletic director. #HSDGoTigers

Servant Leadership students led activities with the 6th graders today based on the "8 essentials" from Characterstrong. #HSDGoTigers

The third grade class was able to handle a variety of creatures today. The classes were very excited to have Dan Nedrelo come in to share his knowledge and experiences. They prepared for this by completing snake research projects, presenting those to parents, and then learning more about reptiles and amphibians.​

The Middle School Academic Awards will be Friday, June 1 @8:15 am in the HS gym. Parents and community members are welcome to attend!
