Jenni Schrock is yet another amazing School Board member that we would like to shine our spotlight on today! Jenni is in her seventh year as a school board member! She chose to run for school board because of her love for her children and she wanted to be involved in the education process. When asked about her time on the board, this is what she had to say: "I enjoy working with the team that we have. Our personalities and strengths balance well and we are able to accomplish some important decisions. I am also very excited about the staff that we have at Hillsboro. The interest that they have in the education of the students, not only academic but character, is exciting to see! The staff takes an interest in each child and goes above and beyond. I am so proud to be apart of this process." Thank you for all you do Jenni! #HSDGoTigers #TigerProud #CelebrateSchoolBoards

We want to draw your attention over here so we can feature another amazing School Board Member - Denise Huntley! Denise grew up on a farm near Yuba and grew up in the Hillsboro school system. She is married to Dave Huntley and they have been together for 23 years! They have four children together, Morgan, Cameron, Mitch, and Kirk (triplet boys!). Morgan is in her third year at UW-Whitewater and is currently studying abroad in Spain! The triplets will be turning 16 this December and are currently enrolled at the Hillsboro High School. When asked about her time as a school board member, this is what she had to say: "I have been on the Hillsboro school board 9 or 10 years. I lost count! I joined to serve my community and to be a voice for those who don't like to speak up. I'm excited to see where the school goes in the future in giving our students opportunities to learn with modern technology, do work studies and prepare them for the REAL world. I also love to help students learn the new curriculum that arrives every year and to help them become a better person!" Thank you for all the support and love you bring to our school board Denise! #HSDGoTigers #TigerProud #CelebrateSchoolBoards

Who is ready to recognize another amazing school board member?! Today, we want to shine a light on the one and only, Jason Oetzman! Jason is a Hillsboro native and graduate from the class of 1999. He has two sons, Jaxson and Harrison, and a very supportive wife, Rebecca. He enjoys spending his free time with family and friends, camping, and volunteering for the local charity tractor pull! When asked about his time on the school board, this is what he had to say: "I'm in my fourth year as a Hillsboro School Board member. I enjoy working with all aspects of making the District one of choice for our students, staff, and community. Making a collaborative effort with administration, staff, and students input to make our District stronger. Realizing I'm just a small fraction of making a difference in a students experience, I still love it! I chose to serve as a board member four years ago after the successful passing of a referendum. Being one of the chairs on the "yes" committee, I felt compelled to follow through with what we worked so hard for. As a district, we strive to provide our students with the highest level of education through our outstanding staff who continue to go above and beyond. Providing more curricular and non-curricular options and seeing them change our student's lives is the reason I serve on this school board. The most exciting part of the Hillsboro School District is seeing our staff, our community, and our students improve because of a strong school system. We're never too young or old to change people lives! Together with a united district and community, we can provide these amazing experiences for our students." Thank you for your dedication to our school board, Jason! We are so honored to have you! #HSDGoTigers #TigerProud #CelebrateSchoolBoard

The next school board superstar we'd like to feature for School Board Appreciation Week is Lindsay OHair! Lindsay and her husband, John, came to Hillsboro in 2012 with their five children to be closer to family and get out of the city and it was one of the BEST decisions they ever made! Lindsay works as a business analyst, however, she enjoys reading, playing piano and spending time with her children whenever she has free time. When asked about her time on the school board, this is what she had to say: "I have been on the Hillsboro School Board for one and a half years. I really enjoy collaborating with the team to set strategic goals so that we can have a sustainable school where students come first. I chose to serve as a board member because I wanted to be a part of making sure ALL our kids have a positive environment where they can grow and learn. With such great teachers and staff, who bring their best every day, you can really see the positive effect it's having on the kids and the community. It's so exciting!" Thank you for all your hard work, Lindsay! We are so grateful to have you serve as one of our amazing board members! #HSDGoTigers #TigerProud #CelebrateSchoolBoards

School Board Appreciation Week continues today and we will be featuring the amazing Jo Peterson! Jo Peterson and her husband, Steve Peterson, have four children and three grandchildren. The three older children have graduated from Hillsboro Schools and their youngest daughter just entered second grade. Jo graduated with her Master Degree in Business and is currently working in Mauston at Mile Bluff Medical Center as a Database Support Specialist. When asked about her time as a school board member, this is what she had to say: "I have been on the Hillsboro school board for about two months. It is early for me, but I enjoy seeing the other board members and school administrations drive to make sure the schools are doing the best for the students. I chose to serve as a member because I feel being a parent to both graduates and a current student gives me a perspective that can positively impact the board. I see so many exciting things going on in our District everyday! The early childhood and 4k rooms look AMAZING! The Plus One program continues to be a great program (and I know our 2nd grader loves it!). We follow the Tiger Way not only at school but at home as well. It is a big deal to earn those Tiger Paws!" Thank you so much for all the positive energy you bring to our school board, Jo! We are very lucky to have you! #HSDGoTigers #TigerProud #CelebrateSchoolBoards
