Ms. Bamesberger's Introduction to Criminal Justice class traveled to Sparta's Public Safety Training Facility on October 22nd for a site tour and discussion.
This upper-level class provides students with a foundational understanding of the American criminal justice system, including insight into the structure, function, and interrelationship of law enforcement, the courts, and corrections. Throughout the year, students examine the origins and purpose of criminal law, procedures used during investigations and arrests, the rights of the accused, and the process of adjudication.
The field trip to Sparta's campus offered students an opportunity to learn about course offerings, careers, and ask questions about the specialized labs, training areas, and the resources utilized on site towards multiple program certifications.
