Students in Ms. Larson's fourth grade class have been building English Language Arts proficiency by strengthening skills through activities and puzzles.
Ms. Larson created a themed ELA adventure, which asked students to complete mini-missions in order to repair their spaceship and "Escape Planet Emoji". Missions included identifying point of view, the main theme of a passage, and elements of a poem. Students worked in small groups and had to complete a total of four missions to unlock the necessary puzzle pieces to restore their ship and continue their intergalactic adventures.
This creative learning framework motivates students at all skill levels to actively participate.
