The Wisconsin Supreme Court outreach program, Justice on Wheels, allows individuals across Wisconsin to observe the State Supreme Court in action.
Yesterday, Hillsboro seniors traveled to Richland Center for the opportunity to see justices in the state's highest court hear oral arguments in real cases. Before each case, local attorneys provided the audience with an explanation of the case and a short civics lesson. Students gained insight into the workings of state government, including how the judicial system operates, and the value of civic engagement.
Since the program's inception in 1993, Justice on Wheels has brought the Court to over 30 locations across Wisconsin, including rural regions that might not otherwise be able to experience the working of the Wisconsin Supreme Court firsthand.
