On Friday, February 2, 2024, Middle School Mathletes from Western Wisconsin schools competed in the regional competition for the national MATHCOUNTS program in Onalaska
.Hillsboro Mathletes performed well with three students placing in the top 25 of 77 performers. Leading the way for the Tigers were Ben Blaha in 13th place, Marshall Stowell in 17th, and Lakota Hatfield in 24th.
MATHCOUNTS is a national program that engages middle schoolers (grades 6-8) in math competitions, fostering problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a love for numbers.
