  • Immediate opening for Director Maintenance. 
    • The School District of Hillsboro is seeking qualified applicants for an immediate opening as our Maintenance Director. The Maintenance Director will oversee a department with four employees. This position is about leading and supporting custodial and maintenance staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing budgets and supplies, and facilities planning. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in human relations.

      Start date is targeted for November 9, 2020 with flexibility to begin earlier or later dependent on the individual's personal and professional circumstances. Salary, Benefits, Length of Contract: This position works a 260-day (12 month) contract with starting compensation in-line with other school district Maintenance Directors in our region and an exceptional benefits package.

      The ideal candidate will have an educational/employment history that shows evidence of their leadership and skills in those areas.

      A. Associate degree required.

      B. Advanced Degree or job-related certification desired/preferred.

      C. Demonstrated personnel management skills.

      D. Experience and training in planning, construction, and project management.

      E. Experience in operation and maintenance of school facilities including organizing and coordinating preventive maintenance, capital improvements, and operational activities.

      F. Demonstrated effective communication/human relations' skills with personnel, and the general public.

      G. Experience and knowledge of building systems, i.e. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and special systems.

      H. Demonstrated effective budget management.

      I. Demonstrated effective needs forecasting and planning.

      J. Participation (prefer certification) in the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials Facility Manager Certification Program.

      K. A minimum of three years supervisory level experience in a custodial, maintenance, construction or engineering related field. (preferred)

      L. Demonstrated planning and problem-solving ability.

      M. Proficient computer skills to accomplish management functions.

      N. Ability to collaborate with others, highly organized, committed to superb customer service, excellent communication skills.

  • Substitute teachers, drivers and support staff for the 2020-21 School Year. Contact Curt Bisarek 
    • The School District of Hillsboro is seeking qualified candidates for substitute teaching positions at all grade levels 4K through 12. Candidates must hold or be eligible for a valid teaching or substitute teaching license through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. A DPI substitute license is required to substitute teach in the district.     • We are taking applications for Substitute Paraprofessionals for the 2020-2021 school year. The majority of the subbing opportunities are in Special Education , but there may be some Regular Education subbing opportunities as well. Here are some of the duties a Special Education Substitute Paraprofessional is responsible for: • Under the supervision of the special education teacher, works with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher. • Establishes and maintains a supportive and sympathetic relationship with the student(s) without fostering or encouraging intense, emotional involvement. • Reads to, listens to, supervises, and participates with the student(s) during the school day. • Provides safety and security for all students in and out of the classroom. • Reinforces Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals for each student under the direction of the teacher. • Mentors appropriate behavior and social skills with peers, classmates, and administrators through example, job training, and social stories.  • Constantly surveys the classroom to monitor students’ behaviors, moving to assist those who need help. •   Reviews students’ schedules each day to determine their events for that day. • Assists in keeping students on task with academics either in groups and/or one-on-one.
      • Any person employed by a Wisconsin public school as a special education program aide must hold a special education program aide license issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) or another valid and current DPI license or permit. A valid DPI license or permit is acceptable for state categorical aide reimbursement for districts. Special education program aide licenses are valid for five years.
        DPI does not license regular education classroom aides or paraprofessionals.
