Tiger Pride is a volunteer organization that strives to strengthen partnerships between the school system, parents and the community. This partnership takes shape in many ways throughout the school year such as encouraging parental involvement in the classroom, planning and organizing family events, and promoting communication between parents and the school.

Old Business
-Website input
- Briefly discussed the website updates. If anyone has suggestions please let Linda know.
Continuing Business
-Family Night activity scheduled for Friday, April 17th beginning at 6:30.
- We have decided to do a patriotic theme.
- Gina and Eric Auel have booked the ropes course team from Ft. McCoy. The ropes course is geared toward 4-6th grade.
- Climbing wall will be available for 3rd graders. Mrs. Farra will instruct them in PE prior to the 17th. Mr. Bisarek will supervise that area on the 17th.
- We’ll have activities for the younger kids in the cafeteria. Ms. VanVleet is working on a mural and a craft project. HS art students are being recruited to do face painting.
- Kyla Luther suggested requesting donations for deployed military personnel—we will ask the leadership group to make a “donation box”. Angel Bach will compile a list of suggestions for donation.
- We’d like to recognize military personnel in some way—still working on exactly how.
- We will provide some small snacks—nothing major (perhaps ask parents to donate?)
-April 2nd is Open House night
- Jenny Hynek and Shirley Green will coordinate the supper (serving from 4:00-7:30). They could use some help!
- Linda will ask for volunteers to help with the meal when she sends out the minutes.
-Amplification Systems
- Several teachers tested two different classroom amplification systems. The response was very positive (most leaning toward the same system). To outfit a classroom would cost between $1000-$1500. If this becomes a goal, we would have to do a large-scale targeted fund-raiser as the district has not placed these as a high priority. Issue was tabled for the time.
New Business
-Smart Board training fee request
- Two Smart Boards will be installed in classrooms soon. Classrooms receiving the boards were chosen randomly from a lottery. Box Top and New Wisconsin Promise money was used to purchase them. The two teachers, Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Stockwell, will be going to a two day Smart Board training session costing $250/each. Tiger Pride was asked to give some money toward the training. After much discussion and a vote, it was decided we could provide funds for half the training.
Future Events
-May 4-8 Teacher Appreciation Week
- Linda Bisarek and Shana Johnson will coordinate
-Family Dance
- TBA. Karla Frederick looking for Friday night dates in May
